Concert...party....more concert and more party - Fernwick Kinder

December is just a busy month for people here in Australia. Apart from Chrismas preparation, the kids here will usually have concert and party as to wrap up the whole year activities. I guess the "mommy" will be the busiest person on earth for this particular month as they need to ensure their kids really enjoy the acivities before everyone will have a long summer break. Fernwick Kindergarden has done such an amazing event for the 4 years old kids. I can see Alissa is so excited enjoying herself with all those party and concert activities.

This is Alissa's last day in Fernwick Kindergarden before she will start her Prep next year. Thank you to all the wonderful teachers - Georgia, Jane and Marji. Thank you for all your patient and effort to ensure Alissa feel welcome, to keep on learning and improving herself - from someone who is so quiet and who don't like to socialize, to someone who is so confident and making lots of friends. I enjoyed every moment during my voluntary duty at your kinder - had so much fun playing with all the kids and chatting with all the teachers in kinder, it is just a beautiful experience to me, Alissa and my whole family.

Jane, since this year will be your last year in kinder, I wish you all the best. Great to know you and appreciate our friendship very much. All the best in your future undertakings. I bet Alissa will miss you very much, same goes to Aidil.

TIME OUT YO PhD GUYS - IT'S BARBEQUE TIME

I remember Prof. Felix used to say, "PhD is a very lonely world." Well, I guess he might be right. But having 4 children and to study at the same time, it might not be the case for me then. But, well....once in a while, we really need a time out. And today we have organized a great barbeque event, to release our PhD syndrome stress and get ourselves energize again for 2009. It's great to hang out and have some fun after having to "squash" our brain on developing a "decent" acceptable hypothesis and theoretical framework? Thanks to Mr. Organizers, Sherman and Munyar - you guys are fantantic. I can see everyone having such a great time! Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year to everyone.

37th Marketing Award Night

Hello again,

Just updating my end of the year activity. 2 weeks ago, I attended one of the prestigeous nite organized by the marketing department - 37th Marketing Award Night. Two thumbs up to the marketing students on their excellent and brilliant effort to organize such an unforgettable event of the year. The attendees were the undergraduate and postgraduate marketing students, lecturers and practitioners from various industries. Feel like attending a "grammy award nite." What a splendid and glamourous nite! Some of my students were on stage receiving the best student awards on various subjects - so proud of them. Anyway, thanks to Dr. Dave Steward for sponsoring my ticket to the event, I'm just so lucky!

Melbourne Zoo

Hello my fellow cyber friends,

I really appreciate all your comments. I'm kind of "silent" these few months as I'm so overwhelm with marking and chasing after my Ph.D confirmation due date. Indeed, I'm glad to be in cyberspace again and update some of my stories to share with all of you.

Our next visit is to Melbourne Zoo. It was winter during our visit there. The good thing about Melbourne Zoo is that there's "Kampung Gajah" in there. We saw Orang Utan and elephant, where the set-up + music played, feels just exactly like home in Malaysia.....Ooooo....I miss Malaysia so much, especially the food and shopping.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALIAH

5th of October is my 2nd daughter's birthday - Putri Aliah Natasha. She's turning 8 this year....How the time flies as I remember she's just a tiny baby clinging in my arm all the times. As the weather was so fine that day, I decided to make a surprise party for her this time. I decorated our backyard decently with ballons and ribbons and it did make her smile from ear to ear for the whole day.

I had my favorite dish prepared as well: mee rebus Ipoh Aiza, popiah crunchy Mokhtar, fruit salad with vanilla custard sauce, nasi impit and kuah kacang. I invited some of my good friends over - Tan Yew Chong, Adeline and Alex Chi Tang, Dzulzalani, Lovely wife Su, his sister in-law (come all the way from Malaysia) with 4 heroes, Rashdan without Rohani (struggling to complete her confirmation report) and 4 heroes as well and Wadi, Shada, little Arfah and junior Adib.

A Dream Comes True.....Sydney Opera House

I've been dreaming to go to Sydney ever since I was in Melbourne 5 years ago doing my Masters. But because of some financial constraint and other commitment, I have no choice but to bury my dream. Hence, we decided to go back to Malaysia right away after completing my Masters thesis without having any chances to explore some other beautiful places in Australia except Melbourne. Fortunately, my decision to come back to Melbourne this time I believe could be one good reasoning, to let my wish and dream come true again. Yes, Sydney Opera House is where I've been longing to go. :cloud9:
